Exclusive Work on Inclusive Business

Shuan’s academic interests lay primarily in innovation management and Inclusive Inclusive Business with a special focus on their application for development. His work aims at understanding the innovation ecosystem in inclusive business initiatives, e.g policies and strategies to facilitate diffusion of new products and services among undeserved communities.

As part of his work on pro-poor innovations, Shuan conducted an extensive fieldwork in rural India, Myanmar and China. He has worked with a number of European Multinationals on their inclusive business initiatives. With the UNDP Growing Inclusive Markets initiative, he served as a research fellow responsible for case studies in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and later joined the analysis of a similar study on CIS.  With Sasakawa Peace Foundation (Japan), he has been an advisor for Base of the Pyramid initiative in South East Asia.
